Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without - New England Proverb
Old tools, like old books, have a personality, an inner glow. Worn wooden handles and nicked edges don’t detract from the utility so much as add a warm history. A well used tool just seems to fit better in your hand. New England is a great place to find old tools, as most every roadside antique shops and junk stores tends to have a back room devoted to old tools. However none of these places can compare with Liberty Tool, on 57 Main Street, Liberty, Maine.
In this beautiful video made by Etsy - and produced by friend of the Atlas Zach Pontz - we meet H.G. “Skip” Brack who salvages tools from all over New England and resells them at affordable prices, in an effort to support his local economy and craftsmen.

(Editor’s Note: This shop is only a short drive from my in-laws house where I have been dozens of times, yet I had never heard of it till now. Further proof that around every corner, in your own city, town, backyard, lay a thousand wonders waiting to be discovered.- Dylan)
