In the early 1980s, a shipping container that once belonged to the owner of a medical lab was found outside his home. Inside the container, authorities discovered around 16,433 aborted fetuses. What ensued was a three year legal battle over how the remains should be buried. The case made it to the Supreme Court before it was finally ruled that they could be buried in the cemetery in a non-religious ceremony. President Ronald Regan wrote the eulogy.

The grave marker for unborn children is on the east side of the cemetery near the fence, not far from two rectangular cement columns.
