Day 4
An Asteroid That Wiped Out the Dinosaurs
Today we're taking the WOW Machine back in time 66 million years! We'll be learning all about Chicxulub, the enormous crater formed by the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. With a force of 100 million megatons of TNT (that's 2 million times stronger than the most powerful man-made bomb), the asteroid that struck the earth here created a crater 90 miles wide and 12 miles deep. At the Chicxulub Museum, we'll discover how this cosmic event led to the demise of the dinosaurs and reshaped our planet forever. Afterward, we'll head to El Corchicto Ecological Reserve for a refreshing dip.
