Minneapolis Art Sled Rally This Sunday!
Before inviting you along for a day of fun, I’d like to share the following Finnish proverb:
There is no such thing as too cold, only underdressed.
Perhaps this is the modus operandi of all of the Twin Cities, especially given their penchant for outdoor wintertime festivities – Medicine Lake Art Shanties, Saint Paul Winter Carnival, Lake Harriet’s Winter Kite Festival – when it is stupidly cold out.
That said, if you’re in the area I’d be delighted if you’d please join me at Minneapolis’ 4th Annual Art Sled Rally in Powderhorn Park!

This Sunday, January 30th, beginning at approximately 2 o’clock pm these untested, absurd snow vehicles will race each other down the big hill in Powderhorn. Considering the Medicine Lake Art Shanties, one of my favorite events here in Minneapolis regardless of the season, is on hiatus for 2011, I’m thinking this will serve as a decent substitute.

It’s very much a family affair, so bring along your creative kidlets!
