Google’s Android OS is one of the world’s most popular, running not only on phones but also many other appliances.
The OS has gone through many versions since its first version in 2008. Most people know that each of the versions is given a code name while in development, all inspired by sweet treats: there’s Cupcake, Donut, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Tiramisu, and more. But what most do not know is that Google makes a statue for each of the versions and displays them on their complex. The most recent addition to the bunch was Upside Down Cake, for the release of Android 14 in October 2023.
Over the years this collection has grown into a pleasant village of androids that greet visitors to the Googleplex.
Know Before You Go
The android statues are spread around Google B46, right across the guest parking lot. They are freely accessible but please keep in mind that this is a working place.
