This small museum showcases the life of William F. Cody—better known as “Buffalo Bill”—who was born nearby in 1846 and became one of the best known figures of the American Old West. Cody fought in the Civil War and the Plains Wars. After his time in the military, he began performing in a show called Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. The show was popular, touring the United States and Europe for years.
The museum also showcases Le Claire Iowa history and life on the river.
