Walking on a sunny afternoon in the City Life area of Milan, you can make a slight detour on Viale Berengario to meet the famous Castello Pozzi. Walking among the buildings, you will be amazed to suddenly encounter a huge house of cards that stands triumphantly in front of the front facade of the building.

The large installation is the work of Rinaldo Denti, owner of the castle, and Elio Fiorucci, the well-known stylist, and is presented as a suggestive and colorful touch of art in the midst of the greyness of the city. During the evening, the cards with baroque designs, in perfect Fiorucci style, light up thanks to fun neon games, which make the view even more exciting.

The building, located at the corner with via Brin, was built on behalf of Claudio Tridenti Pozzi in 1929. After being committed, Pozzi opens the homonymous clothing store, which even dresses the royals of Italy. Today an exhibition space in the heart of City Life, Castello Pozzi was born as the desire of what can be considered one of the most eminent Milanese entrepreneurial figures.

In another area of the castle, another large installation stands out. Three wooden horses, in fact, face outside the hedges of the villa. It is a reproduction of Giuliano Grittini’s sculpture, inspired by the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Although his figure of Pozzi has been consigned to oblivion for a few decades, today he returns to be the protagonist of the cultural and artistic scene of the city thanks to the work of Rinaldo Denti. The President of Castello Pozzi, with meticulous research work at the Castello Sforzesco Archives, has reconstructed Pozzi’s story, rediscovering the life and works of the designer.
