Pinakothek der Moderne Futuro House

A prototype of a Futuro house from 1968 can be found in Munich next to the Pinakothek der Moderne. As less than 100 of these plastic, prefabricated UFO-shaped houses were ever made from Finnish architect Matti Suuronen’s famous futuristic design, this is a rare architectural treat. Among the few Futuro houses still standing today, this is one of the most easily accessible examples. Don’t miss it when visiting any of the Pinakotheks, or take a 10-minute walk from the Residenz.

Update 2024: The house has been closed permanently since the pandemic. One can still see the exterior,but they no longer open it for visits. There is a old panel standing right beside it with the old visiting hours and a QR code for more info but that QR code leads nowhere now.
