Sitting along High Lonesome Road about 16 miles east of Tombstone, Arizona, the Gleeson Jail was built in 1910. While it survived a town-wide fire in 1912 and the near abandonment of Gleeson by the 1940s, the jail fell into a grave state of disrepair.

Restoration began in 2008 and the jail was reopened as a museum featuring early 1900s mining artifacts and local history.

To see how the jail appeared before restoration, seek out the blueprint-matching building resting in disrepair to the northeast near the former mining community of Courtland.
