Spectacular viewpoints are plentiful in Scotland so what makes Glengarry so special? 

Well, you can see all of Scotland from here—kind of. Stretching to the farthest area of Knoydart on the west coast with beautiful mountain ranges, the loch from this angle appears to take on the shape of mainland Scotland.  If you are traveling along the A87 to Skye, Eilean Donan Castle or Kyle of Lochalsh, you can stop here briefly and get your much sought-after Scotland selfie. 

Know Before You Go

If traveling north along the A87, the viewpoint is well signposted and will give you notice for parking at 400 yards, which is plenty of time to slow down. Traveling southward is a little more tricky. You may need an eagle-eyed passenger to watch out for the "Scotland" shape. There are no official viewpoints for southbound traffic but if you are traveling slow enough there are places suitable for parking. Be mindful of cars while crossing over the road. Attempting a U-turn to get onto the northbound traffic again is not recommended and may be dangerous, so it's best to keep traveling south until you find a place to safely turn.
