Abutting the drive-through liquor barn still owned and operated by the Lewis family, the Jerry Lee Lewis Museum is a family tribute to Ferriday’s most famous son. The museum was the Lewis family home and still feels as such. Every nook and cranny of the home is filled with photos, memorabilia, and artifacts documenting the legendary career of Lewis. Don’t expect to see vibrant display cases or velvet ropes inside this museum, tours are defined by a hands-on approach.
While Lewis’s 1950s stardom approached that of his label-mate Elvis Presley, the experience of touring this museum is far different than touring Graceland. The family ties and homely atmosphere make for an intimate journey. Lewis’s niece typically leads tours around the museum and manages the property.
