Discovered in 1984, these 24 standing stones, or “menhirs”, were unearthed while the Swiss city of Lutry was digging out an underground parking lot.
Dating back to the early Bronze age, the stones were re-erected, curving to the south. Carvings on the 14th stone are similar to carvings on standing tones located in southern France, but the connection and the meaning of the symbols are unknown.
Know Before You Go
It is right next to a parking lot, so it is easy to park there and look at it.
