Eighteen individual mandalas for world peace spiral against a backdrop of thousands of glittering blue cups in this inspiring 9 x 5 foot, 600-pound clay sculpture.

The symbolic circular mandalas were created by artists from around the world. Many artists submitted a mandala design and 18 were included in the sculpture, designed by John Cheer, a clay instructor at North Port Art Center.

Cheer stated about his project: “At this point, humanity has reached the height of technology; but our hearts, minds and imaginations are slowly slipping away. Many people have stopped imagining world peace is even possible; even in their own lives, peace is not possible.”

The outdoor sculpture is now displayed at Warm Mineral Springs resort.

Update as of February 2020: The sculpture is currently being renovated and should return within six months.
