Mirador Roc Del Quer
Defy gravity at this fascinating Pyrenees overlook platform.
Outside the small town of Ordino in the microstate of Andorra, Mirador Roc del Quer offers visitors a breathtaking experience unique to the rugged beauty of mountainous landscapes. Greeted by three massive totem poles, visitors can hike 400 meters to a stunning valley viewpoint. Completed in 2016, the cantilevered platform extends 12 meters out over the cliff’s edge, providing an unobstructed view of the valley. As you stand on the platform, the village of Canillo unfolds over 500 meters below, parts of it visible through small glass windows in the floor.
Beyond the safety of the platform, a statue of a man lost in thought gazes pensively over the landscape. Known as “The Ponderer,” the statue was designed by the Argentinian sculptor Miguel Ángel González. Visitors often leave coins on the beam connecting the thinker to the platform. However, the precipitous drop suggests that collecting them might not be a venture for the faint of heart.
