The remains of the Old Tunnel Mill are located in a horseshoe formed by the turns of the Muscatatuck River just outside of Vernon, Indiana.
All that is left of the massive two-and-a-half-story mill are a few foundation walls and a large chimney. Power for the mill was furnished by a race constructed in a manmade tunnel through a hill thereby diverting the Muscatatuck River. It was a marvel of engineering for 1824.
