Raketa Rakia interior.
This retro communism-themed restaurant in Sofia hearkens back to the Soviet socialism of yesteryear.
Raketa Rakia is known for its wide selection of rakia, a fruit-based brandy which Bulgaria has claimed as its national drink. Its customers also recommend its traditional Bulgarian “meat-and-cream-heavy snacks”. A popular spot for tourists, the restaurant/bar is filled with communist memorabilia. Patrons are invited to bask in the mid-century minimalism of bare bulbs and blocky, modernist propaganda posters.
