Monument of Revolution in Ruma
Ruma, Serbia
A series of metal trumpets in the heart of Ruma represents the seven Vojvodina People's Liberation Brigades.
Monument of Revolution in Ruma
The Monument of Revolution in Ruma’s city center was erected in 1975 as a symbol of cultural significance. The sculpture was constructed by Živojin Karapešić, Cveta Davičo, and Miša David and designed to decorate an area for communal gatherings and daily life.
Composed of concrete elements and red brick, the amphitheater memorial space in the city center is adorned with seven metallic forms reminiscent of trumpets. They symbolize the formation of the seven Vojvodina People’s Liberation Brigades in Bosnia and Srem, but also a symbol of the call to charge in the fight for freedom.
Nowadays, it’s a beautiful work of art to admire—one that evokes a sense of commemoration of the turmoil once experienced in the city of Rum.
