St. Regis Trout Museum
Between Missoula and Spokane, a family-owned travel center has an unusual museum in the back.

At the St. Regis Travel Center in western Montana, you can eat huckleberry ice cream, gamble in a small casino, and purchase all kinds of Big Sky Country tchotchkes.
But head toward the back of the retail area and you’ll find the rest stop’s most unusual attraction—the Trout Museum. The museum consists of an array of enormous fish tanks holding various species of the state fish. One tank located in the middle of the room even allows visitors to crawl through a low opening and stand inside the elliptical tank. Enjoy the feeling of being surrounded on all sides by trout. This distinctive tank stands a little over five feet in height so tall people be aware: your head will stick up above the tank unless you crouch down to peer at the fish.
Know Before You Go
