The Pumping Station is an antique shop unique among many in Cardiff, Wales. Unknown to most, this shop houses the remains of one of the most famous animal actors in cinematic history.
Simba is famous for starring opposite Elizabeth Taylor in the 1963 film Cleopatra. He was also the namesake for Disney’s beloved king of the jungle. According to the information displayed within his case, at one point, the cat also held the record for being the world’s largest lion.
Know Before You Go
Simba is on display for free on the bottom entrance of this gem of an antique mall. Feel free to ask for guidance to his location as the taxidermied lion is staged next to a quaint coffee shop, and there is loads more exploring to be done among the great finds in this shop.
