Video: A Legendary Texas Music Community
In this town located 15 minutes outside of Fredericksburg, musical performances are hosted 363 days a year. Grab a beer and kick back under 300-year-old oak trees that have heard some of the best country musicians of all time.
This story is part of Big Wonder–our series that explores uniquely larger-than-life stories in Texas.
The trading post of Luckenbach was established in 1849, but by 1970, it had lost its incorporation and had only three remaining residents. That’s when John “Hondo” Crouch stepped in, purchasing the land and transforming it into the thriving historic destination it is known as today. Grab a beer, kick back, and relax, listening to any of the musical performances that are hosted 363 days a year. History, music, and a trip back in time to the Old West? Music to our ears.
