“A. Lincoln,” by Richard Schlatter, is a portrait of Abraham Lincoln using 24,500 Lincoln pennies. Pennies from every year from 1909 to 2017 were used. This includes 1,681 steel pennies from 1943 that were used for Lincoln’s shirt. The portrait won the ArtPrize international art competition Public Vote Grand Prize in 2017.
