This art installation at an abandoned lipstick factory has distinct anti-capitalist vibes.
DineroDIY is a huge art project consisting of pieces following the theme of money and luxury. The attraction is built from concrete on the site of an abandoned lipstick factory. The whole project is designed to give an anti-capitalist vibe by mimicking luxury and making it accessible for all.
The project intends to prompt people to think of art differently and create some beauty in an unloved spot. The artists spent a lot of time cleaning the abandoned space and erecting their creations, injecting some color and splendor into the area.
You’ll find installations depicting a car, a plane, piles of money, a casino table, a Monopoly board, a Lambretta scooter, the Mona Lisa, and Louis Vuitton luggage. The gigantic Monopoly board is adapted to consist of all the most famous street skating spots in the world. There’s also a mini Paris section, including a replica of the Eiffel Tower, and a fine dining table at Maxim’s restaurant. You’ll also find a sculpture of an old minecart track, with a derailed gold wagon.
