Clare Starkie

Originally from Merseyside in the UK, Clare lived in Sheffield for over 20 years, first as a student of history and archaeology, and later as the Curator of Decorative Art for the city’s museum service. Responsible for a world-renowned collection of metalwork, she organised exhibitions and gallery renovations, did extensive research and gave talks and tours to illuminate the stories behind a huge range of fascinating objects. Moving to Madrid in 2018, she now teaches English to adults, especially in the Heritage Sector and runs tours of the Madrid river.
