I'm a writer and broadcaster. I am the author of 'Fallen Glory: The Lives and Deaths of History's Greatest Buildings', published by Old Street in the UK and Picador in the US; and I've recently scripted and presented a six-part documentary series for the BBC . I'm currently working on new projects exploring some of the most fascinating - and obscure - sites in Scotland; and exploring the stories of borders and borderlands around the world and throughout history.
