I live in the only neighborhood in the U.S. where the people walk in the street and park on the sidewalks. Designed by Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw in 1917 for industrialist Clayton Mark, the neighborhood is on the National Register of Historic Places. However, BP (the people that brought us the Gulf of Mexico problem is now buying up the homes and clearing the 40 acre site because of their new blast zone at the newly renovated refinery.
